About Vood

Yeah, with a “v.”

Here's the thing: I'm Italian, and no matter how long I've been in Chicago, the word “wood" comes out sounding like "vood." After years of friends making fun of me, I stopped fighting it.

Welcome to Vood Vintage, where my accent became the brand name and imperfection is the whole point. A collection of vintage furniture that heroes pieces with personality. Nothing fancy, just items that have stories and deserve people who'll appreciate them.

Ciao!

…and honestly? I just really love old furniture and cool design. Always have. For years, this was something I kept coming back to in the quiet moments—wandering into shops, scrolling late at night, searching for pieces that felt special. What started as a side passion slowly became something I couldn’t stop thinking about.

So I finally decided to do something about it. I hunt for pieces from the 19th & 20th centuries that made me stop—furniture with character, bold and colorful, each with its own story. Some elegant, some weird, all just work somehow. In the future? Who knows, I will evolve and my collection will too.

We're living in a world where algorithms push us to like the same things, buy the same stuff, make our homes look identical. I'm not interested in that. Old furniture fights back against all of it—it's better-made, built to actually last, and kinder to the environment than anything being churned out today.

The bottom line? Second chances for furniture, second chances for following what you love. And yeah, a second chance for me too by turning a long-held passion into Vood Vintage. That's the whole thing.
