Vintage Dunbar Tuxedo Sofa (2 available), Original Label, Attributed Edward Wormley

$5,395.00
Limit 2 per order

A Dunbar tuxedo sofa with the original manufacturer's label intact, documented, dated, and fully restored.

Dunbar Furniture of Berne, Indiana was one of the most respected American furniture manufacturers of the mid-century period, producing work primarily under the creative direction of Edward Wormley. The tuxedo sofa format was Wormley's signature form for Dunbar, and this example, model TU/S Kind 160/61, is consistent with his design language: a low, clean-lined silhouette with equal arm and back heights, a continuous horizontal profile, and chrome legs that carry the whole composition with a light touch.

The proportions are exactly right, generous enough to be comfortable, restrained enough to hold a room without dominating it.

This example has been fully restored. The upholstery is new black bouclé, a considered choice that works with the chrome legs and gives the piece a current quality without erasing what makes it historically significant. The chrome has been polished and the rubber feet are new. It is ready to live in a home today.

I have two of these sofas available. They can be purchased individually or as a pair.
